Could you imagine what it would be like to lose your
home and everything you owned , in one day? It is difficult to
imagine. Many of us live our lives lucky enough to never

story of triumph after a very unfortunate circumstance.
It happened it the middle of winter. On February 3, 2004 a fire
began in the home of seventy three year old Beverly Moore.
Starting in the basement, where water came in contact with the
electrical box, flames quickly moved upstairs and engulfed many
of the rooms. “Like water on a skillet” Beverly describes the
sounds of the fire. Furniture, pictures, wall paper, and
cabinets were destroyed within minutes. When the phone lines
were dead, Beverly had no choice but to quickly leave her home,
and everything she owned behind, except her pet bird.
Beverly had to move fast if she wanted to get her life back on
track. After the call was made to the fire department, the next
call she would make would be to her insurance agency. The agency
then called Mar-Que, and asked for help. Mar-Que would quickly
respond by boarding up the home and supplying both temporary
electrical and heating systems.
The road ahead would be tough. Beverly had to leave her home.
The extent of the smoke damage in her home was so severe, to
properly clean her home she would have to stay elsewhere. Mar-Que
immediately began to schedule repairs and so began the
restoration project that was her home since 1957.
A year later, Beverly is in high spirits. She feels lucky to
have had the home she had spent most of her life in restored
back to the way she remembered. “Working with Mar-Que was a

friendly and extremely pleasant!”
